I am an entrepreneur who moved from Sydney to Melbourne for work projects in 1998. In Melbourne, I became very active in the community and created great initiatives such as Basecamp3030, a community-based respite facility operating in Werribee and being a board member of GHT Inc which operates the Step Ahead youth homelessness project in conjunction with Melbourne City Mission.
Unexpectedly, I soon had to use the Basecamp3030 facilities for his own children and consequently became even more involved in the community. Due to my personal involvement, I advocate for the rights of children and am always willing to challenge the status quo if I believe that there are better ways to do things; I have established the first special needs learn to swim squad in Melbourne (Rainbow Club) and is the Vice-Chairman for Homes of Hope International (HOHI), a charity rescuing children and widows from the effects of extreme poverty around the globe, all whilst running my own small business and enjoying time with my family. My wife of 18 years, Cathy (profoundly deaf) and children Tyson (spinal and acquired brain injuries), Nathan (Asperger syndrome) and Corey (moderate autism) support myself on my endeavours and maintain my joy!
My entertaining presentations help you think outside the box to achieve community support in funding and increase human rights.
