The recent Speakers Bank – RMIT Mini- conference held on the 31st of October at the Laverton Community Hub was a success. A good number of attendees were present. Speakers Bank wishes to thank representatives from the Wyndham City Council, Max Niggl, Jackie Ross, Jodie Aickin of Wear for Success among those who made it to the event. Special thank you to our volunteers on the day including some members of the David House Photography group.
The mini-conference theme was ‘sharing our story’ -focusing on individual speakers’ lived experience and how they were able to live their life to the fullest. From feedback gathered on the day, the attendees were inspired and motivated with the experience of hearing what it is like for the speakers to have a disability and yet overcome their challenges.
It was full on but all worthwhile. Below are some of the photos we took on the day.
